    • A fluid mixing system (10) is provided to permit rapid mixing of a prestored powdered substance such as powdered milk with a liquid in which, in one embodiment, baby bottles (12, 14) are stacked one atop the other in fluid communication, with an internally carried stemmed disk (20) preventing powdered contents of the upper bottle (12) from entering the liquid carried by the lower bottle (14) until the stemmed disk (20) is dislodged from the aperture (22) between the bottles (12, 14), the stemmed disk (20) falling into the lower bottle (14) such that the mixing can occur without opening or separating the two bottles (12, 14). The invention allows the separate storage of two pre-measured fluent materials within the same container, and to facilitate the mixing and dispensing of those materials at a later time without opening the container. The user can mix the ingredients rapidly, with the contents being prevented from spilling during storage, transportation, mixing, and use.

    • A drinking cup container (12) has a cover (14) which is formed with a drinking spout (22) at one side and a vent (28) at the other. Elements (26, 30) extend down from under the spout and the vent. A flow control element (40) is provided and made of elastomeric material having a pair of spaced cavities (42, 44) on one side, each cavity having a floor (46, 48) at the bottom thereof. The cavities receive in frictional engagement, respectively, the lower ends of the elements. This engagement supports the flow control element with the floor of each cavity in sealed relation to its element. Each floor has a passage (54, 56) which is normally closed, but opens on the occurrence of a pressure differential on opposite sides of the floor.
