    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that for high definition of a matrix electron source display, if an emitted electron beam is to be focused by using neighboring scanning lines, since power feeding capacity from a scanning wiring to an electron emitting element becomes in short supply, it becomes a bottleneck of improving electron emission efficiency and that reliability of power feeding to the electron emitting element is reduced. SOLUTION: Along one long side of an electron emitting part, by installing an overhang part of the neighboring scanning lines, it is made to act as a focusing electrode, and along the other long side of the electron emitting part, by installing a power feeding electrode, power feeding capacity from the scanning lines is improved. Because of this, distribution of a driving current in an element electrode is dispersed, and reliability of the electron emitting element is improved. Moreover, in the case of using a thin membrane electron source, a thin membrane of the upper part electrode becomes possible by improvement of power feeding capacity, and the electron emitting efficiency is improved.
