    • The contact sensor (11) includes a conductive fabric (12), an insulative spacer (13) having multiple openings (22), and a conductive sheet (14) of a sheet-shaped conductor. The insulative spacer (13) is interposed between the conductive fabric (12) and the conductive sheet (14). Upon contact of a soft object (25) such as a human body portion on the conductive fabric (12) with force equal to or greater than a certain strength, the insulative spacer (13) sinks in the soft object (25) with the conductive fabric (12) interposed therebetween. The conductive fabric (12) is deformable in conformity with insulative pieces of the insulative spacer (13), such that touching of a portion of the conductive fabric (12) on the conductive sheet (14) provides detection of contact of the soft object (25).

    • A keyboard module includes a pressing layer, a switch circuit board, a base plate and plural glue dots. The pressing layer includes plural key parts.     • A matrix switch comprises an orthagonal arrangement of two sets of parallel conductors spaced from one another by a plurality of resilient elements. Preferably, the switch is made by securing together two one-sided flat conductor cables, each of which comprises a plurality of alternating, parallel conductors and elastomeric elements, with the heights of said elastomeric elements being greater than the heights of said conductors. Each cross-over point of the spaced conductors forms a switch point which is activated upon depression of the upper conductor into contact with the lower conductor. The orthogonally disposed flat conductor cables are held in a suitable housing including printed circuit board pads to which the conductors are connected, thereby facilitating simultaneous connection of the conductors to conventional multi-pin printed circuit board connectors for connection to the electronics used in conjunction with the matrix switch.
