    • A sheet counter has a blade (13) for insertion between adjacent sheets of a stack thereof, and a pin (15) which orbits around the blade to transfer sheets from one side of the blade to the other. A carrier (37) defines three axes disposed in a generally triangular arrangement, the pin (15) being mounted on one of the axes, and the carrier being coupled to a crank (36) about another axis. A link (42) is pivoted at one end to the carrier (37) and at its other end to a fixed part of the counter. As the pin (15) orbits around the blade (13) on rotation of crank (36), the blade is oscillated about an axis adjacent the edge inserted furthest into the sheet stack by a crank (30) and connecting rod (31), driven synchronously with crank (36). Suction is applied in a timed manner to a hole (45) in the blade (13), to assist the separation of the sheets one at a time, before the transfer thereof to the other side of the blade by pin (15).

    • The invention relates to a sheet counting apparatus (1) comprising an overhung or cantilever tongue-like element (3) which is provided on one side thereof with a nozzle orifice (4) placed under subpressure and which is arranged to pivot so that when contacting a sheet corner (5) the corner will be sucked firmly to the element (3) and which during its continued movement separates the corner from the corner of a following sheet, wherein a cantilever corner strip-off pin (8, 8') is arranged to orbit the tongue-like element (3) so as to strip-off the firmly held sheet corner (5) and move the corner from the one side of the tongue-like element (3) to its other, opposite side, the number of sheets thus moved being counted by means of a counter means. The tongue-like element (3) and the corner strip-off pin (8, 8') project outwardly from the sheet counting apparatus (1) in mutually the same directions, wherein rows of sheet bundles are able to move freely past the sheet counting apparatus (1) for counting the nubmer of sheets in respective bundles, or wherein the sheet counting apparatus (1) is able to move past the sheet bundles to the same end.

    • PURPOSE:To move paper linearly and to prevent its wrinkles by allowing the suction head of a paper counter to move along a heart-shaped motion track and passing and receiving the paper at two upper peak points, of the heart-shaped track. CONSTITUTION:The suction head 1' moves in the slit 26 of a plate 25 by a link 1, parallel links 2 and 3, eccentric pins 4 and 5, and an oscillator 7. The suction and discharge of the suction head 1' are switched selectively according to the oscillatory position of the oscillator 7. A suction/discharge selector valve is switched to a dischrarge side at a position (b) and switched to a suction side at a position (d). The head sucks the paper 11 at a position (a) and moves on a receiving plate 25 to enter into discharging operation at the position (b), but the suction is released at a position (c) because of time lag and the head moves to below the slit 26 to pass and receive the paper.
