    • PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive NC drilling machine by using a Z axis motor in common use as a spindle motor.
      CONSTITUTION: A gear switching control section 110 switches the gear coupling ratio between the spindle motor 106 and a lead screw 108 based on the 1st speed signal GCS1, the 2nd speed signal GC, and the 3rd speed signal GCS3 so as to accelerate the feeding speed in the Z direction. Further, a discriminating section 101f monitors the content of a preset register 101a, outputs the 2nd speed signal GCS2 or the 1st speed signal GCS1 in response to the residual amount of movement and when the residual amount is zero, a positioning end signal DEN is outputted. A gear switching control section 110 switches the gear ratio with the 2nd speed signal GCS2 and the 1st speed signal GCS1, disconnects the spindle motor 106 and the lead screw 108 and operates the brake so as to stop the turning of the lead screw.

    • A numerical control system uses in common a main shaft motor to drive a main shaft and a feed shaft, and comprises a main shaft motor (106) for rotating a main shaft (107a), a gear mechanism (110) for mechanically coupling the power of the main shaft motor to the feed shaft (109) to drive a movable unit (107) to drive the feed shaft by the rotation of the main shaft motor, a brake (113) for the feed shaft, means (101 c) for monitoring the distance remaining to be moved by the feed shaft, and feed speed switching means (101h) for switching the feed speed of the feed shaft on the basis of the remaining distance to be moved, thereby providing a function of operating a brake by separating the main shaft from the feed shaft on the basis of the remaining distance to be moved.
