    • An apparatus and method are provided for creating and revising programs for numerically controlled machines. First, generalized data block signals are produced, the generalized data block signals representing alphanumeric words defining block types, workpiece material types, work surfaces, workpiece features and machining operations. Then, machine control instruction block signals are produced in response to the generalized data block signals, the machine control instruction block signals represent alphanumeric words defining machine member motion in the form and format required by a particular numerical control. The generalized data program may be created by a machine operator using data obtained from the workpiece design data. Generalized data program creation and revision is accomplished without regard for the data requirements and limitations of a particular machine and control combination by which the workpiece is to be processed.

    • A method for automatically creating at least one dialog box on an operator interface of a computer user station, which is connected to an industrial process installation via at least one interface so as to transmit data (e.g., process data, status data, control and/or regulating data). The created dialog box displays the transmitted data of the process installation on the operator interface. Further, the data of the process installation that is to be displayed is assigned to certain, stored data types. The at least one dialog box is created on the operator interface of the computer user station so as to display the data to be graphically represented by means of display types (e.g., pointers, bars, numerical displays, etc.), which are assigned to the respective data types.

    • A method of supporting robot application programming and a programming tool for the same are provided. In the method of supporting robot application programming, behaviors that constitute operations to be performed by a robot are assembled in the programming tool for programming an application program for the operations to be performed by the robot. The method includes: (a) classifying the operations to be performed by the robot by functions of the robot; (b) displaying the behavior of the robot which can constitute one of the functions on a display device in a graphical form with block shapes that can be connected one another visually with a plurality of conditions; and (c) converting a set of the blocks into an XML file, when the function of the robot is constructed as a robot task by the set of blocks in the graphical form. Accordingly, various robot applications can be intuitively, easily and speedily developed by simply manipulating the tool boxes of the graphical programming tools without directly inputting code in text form.
