    • Disclosed is a numerical control method for an NC system, and system itself, having means to execute a mirror image function (as shown) wherein the moving direction of a movable member is reversed with respect to a commanded direction for each control axis, and memory means to store coordinate values of a commanded position and coordinate values of a current machine position. This numerical control method comprises the step of storing the respective axial coordinate values of the current machine position at the time that the mirror image function has become effective, the step of calculating the commanded position coordinate values (CP) of directly preceding NC data after the mirror image function has become effective, by using the current machine position coordinate values and the position coordinate values at the time that the mirror image function has become effective, the step of calculating an incremental value (CP n -CP) of the control axis, CP n denoting the command position coordinate value of the control axis for which the mirror image function commanded anew is effective, the step of executing a pulse distribution calculation on the basis of the incremental value, the step of determining the moving direction of the movable member in dependence on the commanded direction and the effectiveness of the mirror image function, and the step of moving the movable member in the moving direction with distributed pulse obtained by the pulse distribution calculation.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the using efficiency of a pattern memory capacity and to shorten the teaching time of an industrial robot, by using a robot hand to teach only one of both patterns of welding lines set at positions symmetrical to each other with the other pattern taught by a mirror shift method. CONSTITUTION:An upper controller 13 stores the teaching information 12 to be given to the robot hands 15 and drives the 1st and 2nd robot hands 15a and 15b via the 1st and 2nd controllers 14a and 14b respectively. Based on the teaching actions of both hands, the teaching is first given to one of both patterns of welding lines set at positions symmetrical to each other centering on a plane for the hand 15a. This pattern is stored to the controller 13. Then the teaching is given to two optional points at positions symmetrical to each other centering on said plane, and these two points are stored in the same way. Then the other pattern which is obtained by a 3-dimensional mirror shift method performing a parallel shift operation is stored on the basis of a plane including the middle point between said two points. Then the signals of those two patterns are directed to the hands 15 via the controllers 14.

    • A sewing machine (10) is provided with an electronic memory (29) for the storing of codes which determine the shape of seams. The seams are divided into portions, seam elements. By way of reflecting seam elements such as inversion of "left to right" of the needle's zig-zag positions or reverse of the feeding, it is possible to obtain several reflected images of the normal shape of the seam element. Moreover, by the invention a backward addressing in the memory is introduced, whereby the number of pattern variations essentially increases without the occupation of greater memory capacity. The backward addressing is enabled by a reversible address counter (24) to the memory, i.e. the counter can step forwards as well as backwards.

    • Method of preparing NC data for an NC program which is required to instruct a machine to effect machining of work into the same configuration. At least one pattern (FIG) is registered which is defined by an independent coordinate system (Xp - Yp). To machine a work into the registered pattern, shift amounts (SX1, SY1, SR1) between a machine coordinate system (Xm - Ym) and the coordinate system (Xp - Yp) by which the registered pattern is defined, together with the pattern defining name of the registered pattern, are input in order to effect coordinate transformation, thereby preparing NC data corresponding to the machine coordinate system. To machine a work into an inverted pattern (FIG') which is a mirror image of the registered pattern, inversion instructions are input together with shift amounts (SX2, SY2, SR2), and coordinate transformation is effected, thereby preparing NC data corresponding to the inverted pattern.
