    • A system and method are provided for remotely detecting and locating faults in a power system. The system includes at least one slave controller and at least one supplemental protection module. The slave controller is disposed proximate at least one load and electrically connected to the loads via at least one conductor. More particularly, the slave controller includes at least one solid-state switch capable of controllably altering the input current to the loads. The slave controller also includes at least one measuring element for measuring at least one parameter associated with the loads and the solid-state switches. The solid-state switch can then controllably alter the input current to the loads according to the parameter. The supplemental protection modules are electrically connected to the conductors between the slave controller and the loads. In this regard, the supplemental protection modules can detects at least one fault in at least one conductor.

    • A monitor system is formed with a programmable controller for executing a user program, a data collecting unit connected to the programmable controller for collecting variable data of the programmable controller and a monitor device connected to the data collecting unit through a communication line. The functions of the system include that of storing a preliminarily defined virtual variable apart from the user program of the programmable controller and from the variable data of the programmable controller and a calculation formula using one or more real variables for obtaining the virtual variable, that of collecting real variable data in the stored calculation formula and any other real variables from the programmable controller, that of carrying out a calculation according to the stored calculation formula based on the collected real variable data, and that of displaying correspondence of the collected real variables and the result of the calculation as waveforms on a display device. Some of these functions are carried out by the data collecting unit, the rest being carried out by the monitor device.

    • PURPOSE:To monitor all at once the changes of contact data on plural sequencers by fetching the contact data on the sequencers forming a ring out of a transmisson module into a processor such as a personal computer, etc. CONSTITUTION:A transmission module 2 can have contact data on all sequencers A1-An forming a ring and can transmit these data to a personal computer 1 in response to a request. Such a module 2 is put into a ring structure of sequencers A1-An with connection of optical fiber cables L0 and Ln. The data are transferred between the module 2 and the computer 1 via an interface 3. The computer 1 gives a request to the module 2 for contact data and can fetch any of the contact data on sequencers A1-An from the module 2 through this single type of hard constitution. These fetched data are projected to a CRT device 4. Thus it is possible to monitor the working states of the equipment controlled by sequencers A1-An.
