    • PURPOSE:To form a dye image good in resolution reproducibility with high photosensitivity comparable to a silver halide photographic material by heat developing silver halide having a latent image with a reducing agent and bleacing a dye with a residual monomer image reverse to a polymer image by heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer 2 composed of photosensitive silver halide, a polymerizable vinyl monomer, a reducing agent, and a binder is formed on a support 3 to obtain a photosensitive material 1, and it is imagewise exposed (a) to form a latent image 4. The material 1 having the latent image is heated (b) to develop the latent image 4 and form a silver image and a polymer image 5 by polymn. of the monomer 4. On the other hand, a dye layer 6 made of a dye precursor capable of producing a dye bleachable with the monomer with or without heating is formed on a support 7 to form a dye image- forming material 8, and this material 8 is brought into contact with said material 4 and heated (b), resulting in diffusing the monomer 4 (c) remaining in the unexposed parts into the dye layer 6 and bleaching the dye, and forming the dye image 9 in the exposed parts.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer image on an exposed area by using a compd. serviceable as the developing agent of silver halide and the polymn. inhibitor of a polymerizable vinyl monomer, and uniformly exposing a photosensitive layer to inhibit polymn. of an unexposed area after imagewise exposure and development of a latent image.
      CONSTITUTION: A recording material 13 is obtained by successively forming on a support 16 a photosensitive layer 15 contg. a silver halide and a compd., such ad hydroquinone or p-aminophenol, having both actions of development inhibition of polymn. of a polymerizable vinyl monomer, especially, a mixture A of 1-phenyl-3- pyrazolidone and hydroquinone, and a layer 14 contg. a photopolymerizable compsn. A silver image 18 is formed in the latent image part by imagewise exposing (A) the recording material 13 from the side of the layer 14, and heating it. The mixture A having a polymn. inhibition action is diffused from the unexposed area 15 into the layer 14. A polymer image 20 is produced by uniformly exposing (C) the material 13 entirely and photopolymerizing the part of the layer 14 corresponding to the silver image 18. The unexposed part of the layer 14 is not polymerized, thus permitting a high-quality polymer image suitable for a printing plate, etc., to be formed.
