摘要： An image-receiving element for use in photographic and photothermographic diffusion transfer film units of the type wherein the image-receiving element is designed to be removed or "peeled-apart" from a photosensitive element following exposure and processing. The present image-receiving element comprises in sequence, a support, an image-receiving layer, and an overcoat layer. The overcoat layer comprises a major amount by dry weight of water-insoluble particles and a minor amount by dry weight of a water-insoluble polymeric latex binder material. The water-insoluble particles may comprise inorganic particles such as colloidal silica, and/or organic particles such as water-insoluble polymeric latex particles.

Essential elements of such film units comprise a photosensitive system which after exposure and processing can provide a diffusion transfer image pattern, an image pattern receiving system and a reflection system integrated with the elements of the product so that after exposure and processing, the image pattern can be viewed as a reflection print. The image receiving system of the products of the present invention comprise a transparent support or dimensionally stable layer through which the image pattern can be viewed and the transparent support or layer is characterized in that a distinctive UV light absorption capability is integrated therewith. In the especially preferred products, the transparent layer or support additionally comprises a finely divided pigment dispersed therein which provides an effective anti-light piping capability without impairing to any substantial degree the transparency of the support or layer.

Le choix approprié des différentes proportions des quantités respectives desdits agents opacifiants permet d'obtenir un ensemble de supports d'images servant de matériaux récepteurs à des couches colorées transférées, donnant lieu à différents pourcentages de gains de points dans l'épreuve finale, mais présentant essentiellement la même blancheur de fond. Le support du support d'images peut être constitué de papier recouvert de polyoléfine, ou d'une résine polymère organique. 摘要： An image carrier and a method for forming a reprographic image thereon is disclosed, said image carrier comprising a support and an opaque hydrophilic colloid layer characterized in that said opaque hydrophilic colloid layer contains at least two kinds of opacifying agents, being (a) polymeric particles consisting of hollow spherical core/sheat beads, (b) titanium dioxide of the anatase crystal modification. The image carrier can further contain an amount of common rutile titanium dioxide. In the preferred embodiment the reprographic image is a multicolour colloid pattern serving as a pre-press proof. By appropriately choosing different ratios of the respective amounts of the different opacifying agents, a set of image carriers serving as receptor materials for transferred coloured layers can be provided giving rise to different dot gain percentages in the final proof but showing essentially the same background whiteness. The support of the image carrier can be a polyolefin covered paper base or an organic polymeric resin. This polyolefin layer or polymeric resin can be opacified themselves with titanium dioxide.
