    • The invention concerns a method of simulating fights which comprises a movable weapons system, which can actually operate in an environment or on a terrain, and a quasi stationary simulator. After preparation of data transmitted by the simulator and received by the weapons system via an on-board computer, a simulated target-object image can be generated and inserted into a lens system inside the weapons system or into an optronic sight arrangement in front of the real background by means of: highly accurate continuous determination of the position and direction of the freely operating weapons system; determination of the weapon angle or a line of sight of an aiming and sighting apparatus in space; continuous telemetric transmission and up-dating of positions, firing events and failure data from the simulator to the operating weapons system; and transmission to the simulator of the position and direction of the operating weapons system including of the weapon angle determined or the line of sight of an aiming and sighting apparatus and of a firing event and a failure signal. As a result, a fight can be simulated in which, unlike with known simulators, the weapons system actually operating receives the simulated friend or foe as a visual display in front of the real background. The invention enables troops actually on exercise on the terrain to be associated with simulated troops, the simulated troops being rendered visible for the crew of the real weapons system. Owing to the insertion of simulated troops into the lens systems of real weapons systems, the troops actually on exercise can not only detect the action of friendly or enemy troops but also see the latter so that they can support or fight them.

    • A system, device and method for firearms training comprises one or more projectors that project an image such as a clay target, or other target to a backdrop. A user tracks and/or aims for the projected target using a firearm comprising a camera and a camera activation device. When the target reaches a desirable location and the proper alignment of the firearm takes place, the user presses a trigger of a firearm in order to take an image and establish a recording time mark of the area in view of the camera as the camera sees at the moment in time. The camera comprises a preprogrammed template of the expected target, and the captured image is processed in order to determine whether the captured image matches all of the projected image or a part of the projected image. A response is activated to indicate that the target has been struck or missed.

    • A light based projectile detection system for use with a firearm and a virtual firearms training simulator includes a self-sealing screen having a proximal side and a distal side. A scenario projector transmits a simulation onto the proximal side, and a light source faces the distal side. The light source selectively projects light onto the distal side of the screen when the firearm is shot, such that light from the source traverses the screen after contact by a projectile. A camera monitors the light traversing the aperture created by the projectile to determine and associate the position of impact and transmit that information to a scenario computer. The system may include an audio detection circuit to monitor the sound generated by the firearm and transmit a signal to a flash controller to cause the light source to illuminate. The screen will then re-seal around the hole so that the light no longer traverses the screen.

    • The invention refers to a mobile training device and system for man-portable weapon which requires no additional display, power or communication means but the ones integrated in and on the weapon mockup. The training device is suitable for all man-portable weapons which have incorporated an optical aiming device and a trigger. The training device is a functional combination of a weapon mockup, which is an exact replica of an actual weapon or a shell of an actual weapon, customized computer hardware, motion tracking sensor, customized virtual reality environment software and miniature monitor; all integrated into a single device. All hardware components are placed inside the housing of a weapon mockup, or preferably integrated in the frame, in a way that electromagnetic waves of individual hardware components do not interfere with the performance of a motion tracking sensor. A miniature monitor is built into the housing of the actual aiming device and displays virtual reality environment. A triggering device is modified in such way that triggering of the weapon is communicated to the integrated computer. In this way the training device enables aiming, selecting targets, preparing for shot and firing of weapon mockup at a target in the virtual reality environment from a plurality of trainee's positions, without any additional video display means, except those integrated in and on the weapon mockup.
