    • Die Erfindung betrifft eine pyrotechnische Antriebseinrichtung mit einem Gehäuse (3), in welchem eine Brennkammer (5) mit einem in der Brennkammer (5) angeordneten pyrotechnischen Material (15) und eine Aktivierungseinrichtung (13) zum Aktivieren des pyrotechnischen Materials (15) vorgesehen ist, wobei die Brennkammer (5) durch eine zumindest in einem Ausgangszustand allseitig geschlossene Brennkammerwandung (3, 7, 13, 17, 33, 35) begrenzt ist, welche in einem oder mehreren Teilbereichen durch jeweils eine Beaufschlagungsfläche jeweils eines Beaufschlagungselements (17, 35) gebildet ist, wobei jede Beaufschlagungsfläche eines Beaufschlagungselements (17, 35) nach dem Aktivieren des pyrotechnischen Materials (15) derart durch einen hierdurch erzeugten Gasdruck beaufschlagt wird, dass das Beaufschlagungselement (17, 35) bewegt und/oder deformiert und/oder ein mechanischer Impuls über das Beaufschlagungselement (17, 35) auf ein zumindest im Ausgangszustand damit mechanisch verbundenes anzutreibendes Element (19) oder einen damit verbundenen Stoff (25) übertragen wird. Erfindungsgemäß ist ein Restvolumen der Brennkammer (5), in welchem im Ausgangszustand kein pyrotechnisches Material (15) vorgesehen ist, im Wesentlichen vollständig mit einem flüssigen, gelartigen oder pastösen Füllmaterial (21) und/oder einem weichen gummiartigen Füllmaterial (21) gefüllt.

    • The invention relates to a device and a method for controlling in an electrothermal-chemical manner the burning of a propellant charge, especially during firing of a barrel gun. Burning is controlled by using electric energy to conduct a current through the burning zone. In prior-art devices and methods, use is made of a capacitor bank which gives one or more current pulses as a source for the electric energy. This means that the current is supplied by a charged capacitor which is discharged. To achieve high ohmic heating, the pulse asssembly must supply a high current. This is disadvantageous since there is a risk that the high current causes an undesirable arc discharge (electric charge) between the electrodes. The method and the device according to the invention control the burning of a propellant charge (3) by conducting a current (I) through the burning zone (4) of the propellant charge, preferably through the flame front (5), where the current (I) is generated by an applied alternating voltage.
