摘要： An assembly of stacked mattresses and a method for preparing such an assembly are provided. The assembly of stacked mattresses comprises a first pallet, a second pallet, a plurality of mattresses positioned between the first pallet and the second pallet and straps coupling the first pallet to the second pallet, the plurality of mattresses being in a compressed state between the first pallet and the second pallet and the straps restraining expansion of the plurality of mattresses. The second pallet is comprised of a supporting member and a plurality of elongated reinforcing members extending across the supporting member, at least some of the reinforcing members including respective strap guiding members extending longitudinally along the elongated reinforcing member. At least some of the straps engage respective ones of the strap guiding members of the plurality of elongated reinforcing member of the second pallet so that displacement of the straps is constrained by the strap guiding members. In accordance with another aspect, a pallet for using in shipping bedding products is provided.

摘要： A pallet (16) and a knockdown or collapsible container (1) have corrugated surfaces to enable stacking and nesting. The pallet has a deck with corrugated upper and lower surfaces and at least two bearers (18, 19) with corrugated lower surfaces (6). The corrugations of the deck upper surface (17) and of the bearer lower surfaces (6) have like pitch to allow a pair of pallets to be stackable. The corrugations on the deck lower surface of one pallet allow nesting with bearer corrugations of another pallet. The container has releasable sidewalls and a lid wherein the sidewalls and lid have at least one corrugated surface that can mate with the corrugated upper surface of the pallet. The pallet and container components are fabricated from moulded polystyrene to which a corrugated plastic or metal layer (6) is abutted. These components are vacuum encapsulated with sheet plastics material using the ARMACEL process.

摘要： The invention relates to a plastic pallet comprising reinforcements, such as inserts, which is moulded from a thermoplastic material and has a high resistance to bending caused by the load when these pallets are being moved using conveying and handling mechanisms, such as when the pallet is subjected to racking load. The plastic pallet with reinforcements of the invention is reinforced with inserts which are positioned strategically on the cover of the pallet in order to increase the stiffness of the general structure of the pallet and which are completely embedded in the plastic foam material that is injected into the columns of the plastic pallet, thereby preventing the inserts from moving or being removed. In addition, the plastic pallet with reinforcements is lighter compared to conventional pallets, including other reinforced pallets, and offers improved structural support characteristics. At the end of its useful life the pallet of the invention can be fully recycled, thereby reducing the environmental impact caused by the disposal of these types of plastic pallets.
