    • A boat hull is constructed by laying up perforated architectural wood veneer strips which have been designed to create the desired shape and overlap one another. A layer of strips is placed in or on a mold of the final desired shape, with each piece slightly overlapping the previous piece. The strips are bonded to one another using epoxy resin or other adhesives. The thickness of the wood strip at the overlap creates a chaseway of air along the length and ends of the each piece of adjoining wood veneer. The chaseways, in conjunction with perforations made in the wood veneer, permit the infusion of resin and removal of air without requiring any additional medium or device. The gap-filling capability of the epoxy and the thinness of the veneer give the final panel a smooth surface in spite of the veneer overlaps.

    • The invention relates to a method for mounting a prefabricated deck (01, 21, 41, 61) on a boat deck (11, 31, 51, 71), said prefabricated deck (01, 21, 41, 61) comprising one or more prefabricated deck elements (02, 22) and the method comprising the following steps: determining at least two centering points per prefabricated deck element (02, 22); optionally calibrating the centering points on the boat deck (11, 31, 51, 71); applying to and/or integrating in the boat deck (11, 31, 51, 71) first centering means (13, 33, 53, 73) per centering point; if no calibration is carried out, measuring the first centering means (13, 33, 53, 73) to determine the coordinates of the centering points; applying to and/or integrating in the prefabricated deck element (02, 22) second centering means (03, 23, 43, 63) per centering point; applying an adhesive (19, 39) to the lower face of the prefabricated deck element (02, 22) and/or to the upper face of the boat deck (11, 31, 51, 71); placing the prefabricated deck element (02, 22) on top of the boat deck (11, 31, 51, 71), the first (13, 33, 53, 73) and the second centering means (03, 23, 43, 63) being complementary to each other and a defined position of the prefabricated deck element (02, 22) on the boat deck (11, 31, 51, 71) being produced; and gluing the prefabricated deck element (02, 22) to the boat deck (11, 31, 51, 71) and allowing the adhesive (19, 39) to cure.
