摘要： A passenger seat assembly (10) for a motor vehicle (12) includes a seat bottom (24) and seat back (26) which can be folded to a horizontal stowed position for increased storage capacity. The seat assembly (10) comprises a linear recliner (66) for adjustment of the seat back (26) in the upright position and to selectively facilitate forward pivotal folding of the seat back (26) to overlap and cover the seat bottom in the stowed position. The seat back (26) also includes a lower portion (150) pivotally attached to a support stanchion (28) and an upper portion (152) connected to the lower portion (150). An adjustment mechanism (154) automatically adjusts the vertical height of the seat back (26) from a retracted position with the upper portion (152) extended upwardly from the lower portion (150).

摘要： A seat adjustment mechanism (10) for a vehicle seat having a seat bottom (14) supported by the vehicle and a seatback (12) coupled to the seat bottom (14) includes a floor latch mechanism (116) and a recliner mechanism (22). The floor latch mechanism (116) is connected to the vehicle seat and pivots the seat bottom (14) relative to the floor. The recliner mechanism (22) is coupled to the seat bottom (14) and seatback (12) and permits rotation of the seatback (12) relative to the seat bottom (14) when in an unlocked state. The recliner mechanism (22) is automatically toggled into the unlocked state when the floor latch mechanism (116) is released and the seat bottom (14) is rotated a predetermined amount relative to the vehicle. Therefore, the seat adjustment mechanism (10) allows seat bottom (14) and seatback (12) to be articulated into a stowed position through actuation of a single lever or button (501).

In addition, when the headrests are not in use they may be readily moved to a position not affecting any possible lines of vision of the vehicle driver.
