摘要： A file card container is disclosed which includes a hollow base having an open top and front and rear portions. A cover is provided for enclosing the open top of the base. A first pivot interconnection pivotally connects the cover to the rear portion of the base. A carrier plate having front and rear ends is slidably mounted within the hollow base. A second pivot interconnection pivotally connects the cover to the rear of the carrier plate. The axis of rotation of the first and second pivot interconnections are parallel with the first pivot connection being disposed rearwardly of the second pivot connection when the cover is in the closed position. A spring is coupled to the base and the carrier plate is capable of urging the carrier rearwardly and the cover to an open position. A device is included to lock the cover in the closed position against the action of the spring.

The stand may be seated on a wedge block to tilt the stand or mounted on a swivel, lazy Susan base, to facilitate reading the material. Another, smaller version of the magnifier stand may be used within or on top of a conventional index card box, for reading the cards. The magnifier stand greatly assists in hands-off following of small print instructions while engaged in almost any form of endeavor, craft or hobby, e.g., cooking, sewing, crocheting, model building, constructing electronic kits or components and so forth.

The device includes a support piece or base having an attachment portion detachably connectable with the well and cradle portions of a conventional telephone and having a support portion cantilevered outwardly therefrom incorporating a writing pen and pad well. A display area is defined on the mounting portion for carrying advertising message or the like. A holder for a card file is detachably carried on the support portion with the writing pad well. A retainer plate is adjustably carried by the holder for retaining a plurality of index cards or the like on parallel runners in cooperation with a snap-lock release device. The latter device releasably secured the holder to the support portion.
