    • The present invention relates to a method for producing a re-closable container which comprises a container body (1) and a closure lid (2). The container body (1) has an outwardly directed peripheral flange (5) and the lid (2) a peripheral frame member (9) which is separated from this peripheral flange (5) by a discontinuous die-cut line (12). The container body (1) and the peripheral frame member (9)do therefore not have to be injection moulded but can also be thermoformed in one piece. A lidding film (10) is sealed on the upper surface (6) of the peripheral flange(5) and on the upper surface (11) of the peripheral frame member (9). During or before the sealing step the bridging elements (13) of the discontinuous die-cut line (12) are broken by displacing the peripheral frame member (9) to a lower level than the peripheral flange (5). When opening the container, the lidding film (10) is peeled off from the container body (1) but stays adhered to the peripheral frame member (9) of the lid (2). The container can easily be opened since the bridging elements (13) between the lid (2) and the container body (1) have already been broken.
