摘要： This invention presents a basketball training device which resembles a mannequin that defends against basketball players with a series of blocking motions. When a proximity sensor detects an approaching player, a control unit initiates waving of forearms, raising/lowering of upper arms, chopping motion of arms and torso raising and lowering. An audio circuit plays music or realistic background noises. When convex bottom of primary base is placed on a floor, weight of ballast and rechargeable batteries allows the device to return to an upright position when tipped. A gyroscopic unit within a control unit can activate when the device tips to ensure return of the device to an upright position. Alternatively, the unit can be placed with the secondary base, which features castors that allow the unit to roll when stuck and facilitates placement on a basketball court.

The present invention includes the option to use red (lights) only, green only or red and green in a random order. The present invention also includes letters and numbers behind some of the lights (e.g. 80 of the 120 lights), and has a sequential pattern option of 30, 60, 90 or 120 lights. This invention is compatible with the use of red/green glasses to accommodate training of binocularity and depth. This invention is used in a therapy setting and will helps to enhance eye hand coordination, response/reaction time, peripheral vision/awareness, localization, awareness of space and depth perception, eye tracking (saccades and occulomotor), sequential movement and processing, as well as a cognitive loading component that therapists use in a variety of ways for individual patients and specific therapy modalities.

摘要： A cognitive/multisensory stimulation system simulates sports scenarios during real sports actions for assessing, profiling, training, or improving performance of athletes or other populations. Cognitive/multisensory training can be provided by: establishing with an athlete a sensory semantic language for relating a number of sensory signals to corresponding possible actions, the sensory semantic language being essentially new to the athlete; instructing the athlete to perform an athletic exercise involving skills and full body movement; providing during exercise sensory signals to the athlete to require rapid discernment by the athlete of the semantic meaning of the sensory signal to correctly chose one possible action; and determining whether the athlete correctly responds to the selected sensory signal during said exercise.
