摘要： A dental dam apparatus is provided for use with an associated dental molding system including an impression tray and a pour dam. The dental dam includes a substantially planar body member, and an attachment portion on the front edge of the body member. The body member defines a generally "U" shaped front edge and a generally straight rear edge extending between ends of the "U" shaped front edge. The attachment portion is configured to selectively engage a generally "U" shaped inner surface of the impression tray and to attach the body member with the tray. In that way, dental molding material poured into the dental molding system with the pour dam surrounding the impression tray and with the body member attached with the impression tray is blocked by the body member from entering into a portion of an area defined by the "U" shaped inner surface of the impression tray.

摘要： The polymerizable dental isolation barrier has a monomer and an initiator. The barrier composition has at least one additive including a polymer strength reducer, a wet tissue adherence accentuator, and a reflective material. The polymer strength reducer is an organic compound that prevents complete polymerization. The tissue adherence accentuator enables the barrier to adhere to a dental substrate even after polymerization. The reflective material lowers the reaction rate and lowers the production of excess heat to reduce patient discomfort and to avoid tissue damage.

One embodiment disclosed is a device for containing abrasive material expelled by a gas abrasive dental apparatus. The device comprises a flexible puncturable, substantially flat distal sheet comprising one side of the device for isolating a tooth surface to be abraded; a transparent, puncturable, substantially flat proximal sheet comprising the other side of the device; an enclosure for containing the abrasive material. The enclosure is formed by the junction of the proximal sheet and the distal sheet; an enclosure sealing means for permitting access to the enclosure and sealing the enclosure, a filtering means integrated with at least one sheet for permitting the passage of a gas while entrapping the abrasive material, and a rubber dam integrated with the distal sheet, which rubber dam can be secured from within the enclosure around the tooth surface to be abraded by a clamping member. Certain other embodiments of the device can be used for non-dental applications.

摘要： The rubber dam clamp is made of fiber-reinforced plastic. The dam clamp has a pair of gripping claws that are adapted to engage a tooth neck. A resilient bridge connects the gripping claws. A pair of open sockets are defined in an inside of the gripping claws between the bridge and the gripping claws. The sockets are adapted to receive the points of a rubber dam clamp forceps so that the dam clamp may be opened without the risk of the forceps being caught in the socket when the dam clamp is released and the forceps is to be removed therefrom.
