    • The present invention concerns a slug trap (10), preferably for Spanish slugs where the slug trap in the direction intended for use includes: i) a vessel part (20) which is suited for containing a luring liquid which attracts snails, where the vessel is closed downwards and open upwards, as the container part has an upper edge (40) defining an opening, and where the upper edge of the vessel part defines a transition to: ii) a ramp part (30) which extends outwards and downwards in relation to the interior of the vessel part and which is terminated by a lower edge (50), where the vessel part tapers downwards and has a dimension in vertical direction which is greater than the dimension of the ramp part in vertical direction, and wherein the ramp part (50) thus defines a ramp for snails by which the snails' access to the luring liquid of the vessel part is facilitated, and where the tapering of the vessel part enables secure fixing in the ground in the place where the trap is desired to be placed, in that the vessel part of the snail trap may easily be trod partly down into the earth without use of tools.

    • This disclosure relates to systems and methods for providing a barrier that deters or prevents terrestrial molluscs, such as slugs and snails, from entering a garden or other vegetation area. A barrier may include an inverted channel, a portion of which forms a dry chamber configured to retain salt, rock salt, a salt-based mollusc deterrent, or other mollusc deterrents, poisons, and/or baits. Mesh may be used to retain the deterrent within the dry chamber. In various embodiments, a bead or other feature may help prevent liquids, such as water, from wicking into the dry chamber.

The function being to provide an attractive molluscicide substance under the overhanging awning formation, where an attractive cozy shade recess serves to lure the snail out of the sun. The invention being essentially based upon the notion that once the snail has partaken of the fatal bait-substance, there is actually no need of further entrapment means for effective extermination, thus a device of minimal size is attained. The device may be economically extruded with a single or double sided awning, while an alternate generic variant injection-molded umbrella like embodiment is also set forth. In the latter embodiment, the inverted J-shape is formed continuously into a circular station to simulate a mushroom appearance, operating essentially like the planar version but virtually in the round, so as to attract equally from all directions.
