The milk is withdrawn through the natural glandula opening (232) of a teat (13) by means of a teat-cup (7) connected to a milk-conveying system which applies a partial vacuum to the teat in order to withdraw the milk through the glandula opening. In order to avoid tissue damage when using this process, the partial vacuum is applied to the teat for a preselectable time interval the length of which is chosen in function of the time available for milking and of the desired frequency of milking. During this time interval, a constant or pulsating partial vacuum can be applied to the teat. The pulse number of the pulsating partial vacuum can vary between 60 and 300 cycles per minute, or the pressure can oscillate between atmospheric pressure and a partial vacuum.

When atmospheric pressure occurs in the teat cup following a kick-off, the valve closes and prevents ingress of contaminants.

摘要： The automatic sheep and goats milking valve is a device that enables automatic start and stop of the animals' milking process. The use of a ball (2) that moves perpendicular to the ground along the virtual axis of the milk inlet (a) enables simple operation with a minimum number of moving parts, without a switch or spring. The only forces applied are the atmospheric pressure and the ball's (2) weight. The ball (2) intercepts the milk as it falls in from the inlet (a), and reduces frothing. Since there is no spring, the valve can operate with a low vacuum level. Furthermore, the vertical motion of the ball (2) between points (f) - (h) eliminates the need for a washing position selector, since the valve cannot be closed when it is turned upside down and the ball (2) comes to position (f) in order to be washed (i). Its transparent section (1) enables visual check to be easily performed. Its simple construction permits easy in-place disassembly and assembly by the operator without any tools. The minimum number of parts ensure proper cleaning and higher hygienic levels.
