摘要： A vacuum switching device comprises at least one cup-shaped contact 6 closed by a disc of contact material 5 and a conical mechanical support 11, which acts to prevent the contact disc 5 from becoming concave. The cup-shaped contact comprises a plurality of slots in the sidewalls that extend into the base of the cup, the slots oriented to produce an axial magnetic field when current flows through the contacts. 50% of the slots may extend into the base of the contact. The slots may have an angle of between 45º and 82º relative to the axis of the contacts. The support 11 may be made of a metal that is a poor conductor of electricity, such as stainless steel, or of glass or ceramic material. The cone angle may be between 20º and 140º. The narrow end of the cone may be capped by a circular ring or disc, and the wide end may be formed with a flange. The flange may be circular and may be sized and formed to locate the cone centrally in the base of the contact cup. The cone may comprise apertures to facilitate the evacuation of gas from inside the cone.

摘要： Equipment for switching medium voltage three phase supplies uses three separate self actuating vacuum interrupters, one for each phase, in conjunction with a control unit. Each interrupter module can comprise an electromagnetic actuator, a drive insulator and a flexible conductor. Modules may be encapsulated in insulating material or contained in an insulating enclosure and can include a fault sensor, control equipment and a latching device to hold contacts in an open or closed condition. The interrupter modules may comprise terminals for suitable for insulated cables or bus bars. The three vacuum interrupters may be used in the tower of a wind generator or an indoor substation since an enclosing cabinet or substation cubicle is not necessary.

摘要： An authenticator for digital data is derived by generating a numerical array, using a secret key to controllably shift the relative positions of the elements of the array, and applying the scrambled array to a message to act as an authenticator for that message.
