摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate airbag expansion deployment by pre-weakening a trim piece for a vehicle. SOLUTION: The present invention is a method for manufacturing a trim piece 10 to provide a hidden deployment door and opening for an airbag. A base panel 12 is formed together with one or a plurality of integrated door panels having an insertion space 18 preformed between one or a plurality of door panels 14A, 14B and the base panel. One side portion of each panel is integrated with the base panel so as to form a hinge. The base panel 12 is covered with one or a plurality of cover layers 20, 22 which extend over one or a plurality of door panels and the opening. The cover layers are formed with a laser scored or the like so as to enable pre-weakening along the space with a correlation pattern.

摘要： PURPOSE: To give pretreatment to a decorative leather cover layer covering an air bag deployment opening for effective brittleness and weakness and easily rupture a door panel provided thereunder when forcibly opened. CONSTITUTION: A hardening agent is applied to the inside of a leather cover layer 38. This application is carried out along a strip area 24A. The strip area 24A is provided corresponding to the side (edge) of a door panel, where there is no hinge. The hardening agent permeates through the leather cover layer 38 in the strip area 24A, with its permeation depth being 50-70% of the thickness of the leather cover layer 38. The leather cover layer 38 is provided with a notch groove. The notch groove extends to the center of the strip area 24A of a door. As the hardening agent hardens, the leather cover layer 38 becomes sensitive to a notch (becomes easy to rupture with a notch). Previous brittleness and weakness are thus provided for the leather cover layer 38.

Since a boring cutter panel 30 on a first stage is inclined downward and connected to the door base 18, it is brought into contact with an inflated air bag, and a boring element 34 perforates the vinyl cover layer 10 before the door base panel 18 is moved. Accordingly, the vinyl cover layer 10 is bored at the central part and corner parts of the door pattern before cutting by the rim 26 of the door panel 18 progresses.
