    • A contact assembly of an alternator including aninterior chamber, which houses afirst end (46) of a rotor shaft (26) having an axis of rotation, first and second bearing assemblies (322, 323)coaxially aligned with the rotor shaft (26)and electrically isolated from one another; and at least one spring member (332) coaxially positioned with respect to the rotor shaft (26) within the chamber.
