    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid adverse effect such as a crosstalk current to a reproducing head due to high-frequency current of a recording head or turning on/off of a heat generating resistor. SOLUTION: The head gimbal assembly includes: a magnetic head assembly 1 provided with the recording head 1-2, the reproducing head 1-1, and the heat generating resistor 1-3 controlling the fly height of a magnetic head; and a suspension for mounting the magnetic head assembly 1. The wiring HTx, GTx of the heat generating resistor is disposed so that wiring RxX, RxY of the reproducing head is disposed therebetween. The wiring of the heat generating resistor is disposed between the wiring of the recording head and wiring of the reproducing head. A current wave form or a voltage wave form to the heat generating resistor having the wiring disposed near the wiring of the reproducing head is the wave form having a time constant of ≥1 μsec.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PRML signal processing method for obtaining a highly reliable data demodulation by reducing an influence of a low frequency medium noise or a low frequency waveform distortion.
      SOLUTION: For effectively suppressing a signal in a low frequency region where a medium noise or a signal distortion is concentrated, and also for effectively utilizing a detection signal component of the reproduced signal in the same signal region, a target of equalization process of a partial response waveform is set up with respect to a perpendicular recording/reproducing signal so as to suppress a low frequency signal component near DC to the specified amount for achieving both of the above purposes, and a maximum likelihood decoding process is carried out. A reliability of the data demodulation is thereby increased, and a signal quality is improved. As a result, a noise from a recording medium is further reduced, and the high density magnetic recording/reproducing device is configurable.
