摘要： The present invention relates to arc welding torch and a method of extracting fume gas from a welding site. The torch comprises a metal electrode and at least one shield gas port adapted to direct a shield gas curtain around the metal electrode and a welding site. At least one shroud gas port is spaced radially outward from the shield gas port and adapted to impart to an exiting shroud gas a radially outward component of velocity. Fume gas is preferably extracted from a position radially intermediate the shield gas curtain and the shroud gas curtain.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing additional shielding to a weld site when welding with a consumable self-shielding welding electrode. The method comprises the steps of producing a shroud gas curtain spaced radially outward from the electrode and substantially controlling the axial position of the shroud gas curtain relative to the distal end of the welding electrode during consumption of said electrode during use, wherein the shroud gas curtain comprises a radially outward component of velocity. 摘要： Apparatus for dispensing metered quantities of liquefied gas such as liquid includes a thermally-insulated reservoir having at its bottom an outlet passage leading to a dispensing orifice outside the thermal insulator. There is a single valve for controlling admission of the liquefied gas to the dispensing orifice. The passage is in heat conductive relationship with a block of heat conductive material in the liquefied gas so as to maintain the passage sufficiently cold to prevent substantial evaporation of liquefied gas within the part of the passage with the reservoir. The valve may be cam or solenoid actuated to dispense drop of liquefied gas of chosen volume.

摘要： An air separation process for obtaining high purity oxygen and nitrogen comprises the steps of cooling compressed air in a heat exchanger to remove its water content; removing carbon dioxide from the dried air in an adsorption unit; further cooling the dry CO.sub.2 -free air and passing the residue to a rectification column; regenerating the beds of the adsorption unit with waste nitrogen from the rectification column; and purging water from the heat exchanger with the effluent gas obtained from regeneration in the adsorption unit.

摘要： An air separation process using pressure swing adsorption techniques, for providing high purity oxygen. Two sections are employed one comprising beds of molecular sieve carbon and the other comprising beds of zeolite molecular sieve. Air is fed to a first of the sections which provides an oxygen-rich gas stream as feedstock for the next section where further enrichment takes place. The zeolite sieve section serves to effect a separation as between oxygen and nitrogen while the carbon sieve section serves to effect a separation as between oxygen and argon and the processes performed at each section are integrated in such a manner as to minimize power consumption and make use of gas recycled from the second section to the first in addition to the flow of gas from the first section to the second.
