摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing additional shielding to a weld site when welding with a consumable self-shielding welding electrode. The method comprises the steps of producing a shroud gas curtain spaced radially outward from the electrode and substantially controlling the axial position of the shroud gas curtain relative to the distal end of the welding electrode during consumption of said electrode during use, wherein the shroud gas curtain comprises a radially outward component of velocity. The present invention also relates to a welding method and apparatus for providing fume extraction in a manual metal arc welding process.

摘要： The present invention relates generally to the field of computers and in particular to methods and systems for processing tax refunds. Existing VAT refund systems are either expensive or overly cumbersome with paperwork. The present invention provides a solution to these problems by providing a tax claim system comprising a payment card system 1 suitable for accepting payment card transactions at a point of sale, the payment card system comprising a display for displaying information to a payment card system terminal user. The tax claim system further includes at least one data capture device for receiving card details from a payment cardholder and an indication receiving element for receiving an indication that a tax refund claim is required for a transaction. The system further provides a claim generation module for generating a tax refund claim in response to a received indication that a tax refund claim is required for a transaction and communicating this generated claim to an associated printer device.

摘要： An apparatus and method for moving a window sash relative to a window frame. A window comprises a frame and a sash pivotally connected to the frame. A plurality of members are positioned between the sash and the frame, and the plurality of members are arranged in a series. A plurality of magnet sets comprise at least a first magnet operably connected to one member in the series of members and at least a second magnet operably connected to another member in the series of members. The first magnet is adjacent the second magnet, and at least one of the first or second magnets is an electromagnet. Energizing the electromagnets causes the members in the series of members to move relative to each other and causes the sash to move relative to the frame.

In particular, the present invention relates to systems and methods for processing payment card transactions in a dynamic currency conversion and/or multi-currency scheme. To operate correctly, ghost transactions are used. However to prevent duplication of debits against the Card Holder, these "ghost copy" transactions must not be processed into the card schemes with the normal transactions. Thus the Acquirer's and/or third parties host systems have to be amended, in addition to modifications to the related accounting thereof. To overcome this necessity, the present invention provides a method for effecting the performance of a payment card transaction for a first transaction amount in a first currency, between a first merchant and a first payment card holder, the method comprising the steps of a)creating a first payment card transaction record between the first merchant and a second cardholder for the first transaction amount, b) creating a second payment card transaction record between a second merchant and the first cardholder, wherein the second transaction record identifies a second transaction amount in a second currency which equates to the first transaction amount converted into the second currency, and submitting the first transaction record and the second transaction record for processing as payment card transactions.
