CONSTITUTION: A compacter 7 provided with a tapping plate and a horizontally vibrating cutter 8 are equipped on a working vehicle provided with a breaker 5 for a road face, or a supply device 6 for paving materials to repair holes, cracks, etc., of a paved road. The cutter 8 horizontally vibrates in an amplitude of about 1 cm and a frequency of several Hz and additionally imparts vibration of an amplitude smaller than 1 mm and 50 Hz or a larger frequency. The cutter 8 is cylindrically shaped to have a radius of curvature at the under face as large as 10 cm. Asphalt or the like is filled in a recess to be repaired and filled up from the periphery and compacted by the compacter 7 and then, it is cut off flat by the cutter 8. In this way, the works can be saved and the repaired face can be finished smooth.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration tamper which has a reduced total weight, enhances compression efficiency with ease of operation in particular, and reduces stress applied to a shaft bearing of a tamper drive member.SOLUTION: A vibration tamper for compressing subsoil comprises an upper structure (2) and a lower structure (3). The upper structure (2) is provided with a motor (5) and an eccentric disk (7) driven by the motor. A connection rod (8) is eccentrically arranged on the eccentric disk (7) to convert rotational movement to linear movement. The lower structure has a tamper base (25) including a tamper plate (13) which is driven to provide linear tamping movement along a tamper axis (9) due to the linear movement of the connection rod. Since the connection rod is provided with a curvature part, the tamper axis (9) is located on a plane (28) arranged in parallel with a plane defined by a shaft bearing (18) of the connection rod on the eccentric disk, in an opposite direction of progress direction of the vibration tamper.
