    • A system/method of color match assessment for electronic documents includes receiving digital data defining a composite electronic document including a raster image object having an edge and a color graphics object bordering the edge of the raster image object. The pixel color values defining the edge of the raster image object are processed to estimate a local color variance of the pixel color values. The local color variance is used to determine if the edge can be color matched to the bordering color graphics object. If the edge can be color matched, a match color for the edge is derived. The match color is associated with the digital data defining the electronic document so that a downstream object color match system can use the match color as needed, e.g., to adjust the color of the bordering color graphics object to ensure a match with the edge of the raster image object when the electronic document is printed using a xerographic printing process.

    • An artifact removal and quality assurance method and system for digital images, wherein a document comprising at least one printed page is scanned or the original image data are otherwise input. The input digital image data are segmented into components as to content type. The components are classified as either information or noise components. An information component image defined by the information components and a noise component image defined by the noise components are generated and displayed to the user. The user inputs quality assurance input data to indicate zero or more improperly classified components and any improperly classified component is reclassified. The component images are then regenerated and displayed to account for the reclassified component(s). The reclassified component is moved as a unit in real time as viewed by the user from an original location in one of the component images to a corresponding location in the other of the component images. Both component images are saved or otherwise output as desired.

    • A method and system for creating guilloché base pattern with two-dimensional periodicity in a plurality of replicate patterns is shown wherein the creating can be assessed in real-time for pattern acceptability by a user. A base pattern is set on an imaging device in vector space relative to a set of predetermined pattern nodes. The base pattern is modulated via a user interface by adjusting positions of the pattern known for selectively controlling curve shapes of the pattern. A guilloché mark is illustrated by display on the imaging device of the adjusted base pattern and a compilation of associated replicate patterns for user assessment of the mark.
