    • The invention relates to a solution for ocular diagnosis, wherein three-dimensional images of the human ocular fundus are evaluated. The inventive device comprises a plate, having parallel faces and a known thickness, and being disposed in front of an ophthalmologic device, an adjusting mechanism, an image recording device and a control unit. The plane-parallel plate may assume any angular position, the plane-parallel plate being displaced into the other optimum position -a opt once an optimum angle of deflection a opt has been determined and in both positions one image each of the ocular fundus is recorded by the image recording device and is saved in the memory of the control unit for evaluation and/or filing. The proposed solution is preferably meant for use in fundus cameras but can theoretically also be used for other ophthalmologic devices. The inventive solution is substantially easier to handle than comparable solutions of the state of the art and ensures that the individual conditions of every patient can be optimally taken into account and that the maximum possible three-dimensional effect is always available for diagnosis.

    • The invention relates to a fundus camera for ophthalmological diagnostics, by means of which photographic exposures of the rear sections of the eye can be produced in order to make pathological changes visible and to document same. The fundus camera according to the invention consists of a light source having illumination optics, an opthalmoscope lens, imaging optics, an image sensor and a control and evaluation unit, wherein in order to deflect the observation optical path optical elements having differing dimensions and/or shapes which can be selectively introduced into the optical path are provided and a device for implementing different light ring geometries is arranged between the light source and the illumination optics. The invention relates to a fundus camera by means of which photographic exposures of the rear sections of the eye can be produced in order to make pathological changes visible and to document same. The fundus camera according to the invention, suitable both for mydriatic and non-mydriatic measurement procedures, produces photographic exposures of the rear sections of the eye having uniform, very good image quality.

    • The present invention is directed to an optical device for the observation and documentation of the ocular fundus and is preferably provided for fundus cameras. In order to generate a uniform illumination of the fundus by transillumination of the sclera in the illumination unit, according to the invention, for fundus cameras and/or ophthalmoscopes, the light emitted by the illumination source is coupled into individual light-conducting fibers or bundles of light-conducting fibers which extend into the area of the front lens of the fundus camera and ophthalmoscope and whose fiber ends are formed in such a way that the exiting light is projected on and transilluminates the sclera. The discomfort caused to the patient by pupil-dilating means is avoided as are the risks associated with the placement of contact lenses. Another substantial advantage of the illumination unit according to the invention is the extremely uniform, large-area illumination of the fundus, so that a correspondingly large visual field of the fundus can be observed and also documented.

    • The present invention is directed to an optoelectronic unit for directing the eye gaze of the patient during examination or documentation of the fundus of the eye. The solution according to the invention for internal eye gaze guidance in fundus cameras provides a spatial light modulator for generating the fixation mark comprising imaging optics by which the displayed fixation mark is imaged on the eye fundus by a semitransparent mirror arranged in an observation beam path and via a swivel mirror arranged in a documentation beam path. The spatial light modulator is connected by a control unit to an actuating element for positioning the fixation mark. The device, which is preferably provided for fundus cameras, can facilitate the diagnosis of diseases of the eye fundus in that the documented recordings can be exactly reproduced and therefore exactly compared. In particular, the tracking and presentation of the course of diseases can be improved in this way.

    • The present invention is directed to a solution for ophthalmologic diagnostics in which stereo images of the human fundus are evaluated. The device according to the invention comprises a plane-parallel plate of known thickness which is arranged in front of the front objective of an ophthalmologic device, an adjusting mechanism, an image recording device, and a control unit. The plane-parallel plate can occupy any angular positions. After determining an optimal deflection angle alphaopt, the plane-parallel plate is moved into the other optimal position -alphaopt, and an image of the fundus is recorded in both positions by the image recording device and is stored in the storage of the control unit for evaluation and/or archiving. While the proposed solution is preferably provided for fundus cameras, it can also be used in principle for other ophthalmologic devices. The proposed solution is appreciably simpler to manage compared to the prior art and ensures that the individual conditions of each patient are taken into account in an optimal manner and that the maximum possible stereo effect is always available for the diagnosis.
