摘要： In an image forming apparatus, image adjustment is performed by detecting a toner image constituting an image adjustment pattern 22 transferred to an intermediate transfer member. On the intermediate transfer member 2, a leading pattern 21 longer than a circumference of a secondary transfer roller 13 is formed at a leading position in a travelling direction of the intermediate-transfer-member ahead of the image adjustment pattern 22 by using a toner that is highest in brightness among toners used for the image adjustment pattern 22 or a toner that is higher in brightness than any toner used for the image adjustment pattern 22. Staining of the rear face of the recording medium due to toner adhering to the secondary transfer roller is prevented without increasing the apparatus scale.

摘要： A novel output buffer circuit including an input circuit, a voltage generating circuit, and an output circuit forms a three-state buffer circuit. The output circuit includes a first transistor, a second transistor, a third transistor, and a fourth transistor. With such a configuration, a simple circuit using no high voltage insulated transistors and level shift circuits can be made, and the simple circuit can output either a low voltage signal or a high voltage signal responsive to a low voltage input signal, reduce the manufacturing cost and the delay of the risetime of the output signal, which are associated with a high voltage insulated transistor. Furthermore, cost can be reduced by miniaturization of the circuit size.

摘要： A secondary cleaning device has a cleaning brush, collection roller, and controller. The cleaning brush is driven by a drive mechanism and thereby rotates in a state that brush fibers thereof are contacting with a secondary transfer belt to collect toner on the secondary transfer belt. The collection roller is driven by another drive mechanism and thereby rotates in a state contacting with the cleaning brush to collect toner from the cleaning brush. The collection roller rotates in such a manner that the collection roller and the cleaning brush move in the same direction with each other at a contact area between the collection roller and the cleaning brush. The controller controls the drive mechanism such that the circumferential speed ratio of the collection roller with respect to the cleaning brush is greater than one and smaller than two.

The charging brush has a base and a number of bristles planted in the base. A contact force of the charging brush against the image bearing surface is set to be more than 0 N/m and equal to or less than 1.5 N/m.

摘要： The entrapping immobilization pellets satisfy conditions: (A) the deformation rate expressed by (H0−H1)/H0×100 is 70% or more, where the thickness of the pellets before compression is H0 and the thickness of the pellets at the time the pellets are broken by compression is H1; and (B) the particle diameter falls within the range of 0.1 to 1.5 mm. The entrapping immobilization pellets are added to a biological treatment tank having no screen and the entrapping immobilization pellets discharged together with treated water to a solid-liquid separation tank are returned to the biological treatment tank by pumping. With this constitution, the entrapping immobilization pellets are less broken even if they are returned to the biological treatment tank by pumping, a conventional biological treatment tank in which wastewater is treated with activated sludge can be used without modification, and in addition, the particle diameter thereof can be reduced. Therefore, treatment efficiency can be markedly improved.
