摘要： A method for fabricating a liquid crystal display (LCD) device to improve picture quality by preventing defective rubbing, is disclosed. The method which includes preparing first and second substrates, forming a thin film transistor on the first substrate, forming a first orientation layer on the first substrate including the thin film transistor, performing rubbing and orientation direction alignment processes on the first orientation layer to provide a uniform alignment direction, and forming a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates.

A defective pixel is electrically connected to an adjacent normal pixel. A memory stores a location data that indicates a location of the link pixel and a compensation data that compensates for charging characteristics of the link pixel. A compensation circuit modulates a digital video data to be displayed on the link pixel on the basis of the location data and the compensation data.

The LCD repairing method includes forming a hole on a first or second substrate at a position corresponding to a defective pixel and forming a pigment in the hole. The LCD includes a first substrate on which a pixel electrode and a TFT are formed in a pixel region formed in a matrix pattern, a second substrate on which a color filter layer and a black matrix are formed, the second substrate facing the first substrate, a hole formed on an outer surface of the first or second substrate to repair a defective pixel, and a repair pattern formed in the hole.

摘要： An apparatus and method for rubbing an alignment layer of an LCD device is disclosed. The alignment layer is rubbed over an entire surface of a substrate at uniform pressure and dust or particle is not adsorbed into the alignment layer during rubbing process. The apparatus for rubbing an alignment layer of an LCD device includes a rubbing means to rub the alignment layer while the rubbing means is rotated along one direction to contact a surface of the alignment layer formed on a substrate, and a liquid jet to jet liquid when the alignment layer is rubbed by the rubbing means.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device and a fabricating method thereof for simplifying a process are disclosed. In the method of fabricating the liquid crystal display device, a first conductive pattern group including a gate line and a gate electrode, a common line and a common electrode, a pixel electrode and a pad in a multiple conductive layer having a stepwise shape including a transparent conductive layer is formed on a substrate by a first mask process. An insulating film and a semiconductor layer including a plurality of contact holes are formed on the first mask pattern group by a second mask process. A second pattern group including a data line, a source electrode and a drain electrode is formed on the semiconductor layer and the semiconductor layer is patterned, and an active layer is exposed between the source electrode and the drain electrode by a third mask process.
