摘要： A still picture video signal processing unit 30 and a head unit 40 records video signals of a still picture imaged by a camera unit 10 and PCM audio signals from terminal 2 in a PCM audio area of a magnetic tape 1 as digital signals. A controlling unit 50 controls the still picture video signal processing unit 30 so that an ID for discriminating interchangeability or non-interchangeability of the digital signals may be stored in a predetermined area. During playback, the controlling unit 50 controls the processing unit 30 or the like so that the video signals, the PCM audio signals or the like may be reproduced based on the ID. The user may be informed as to if the recorded digital signals belong to the basic function having interchangeability or to the extension function not having interchangeability and as to the reason playback cannot be made. The producer may be free to add a unique function to make distinction from products of other producers as well as to develop products attractive to customers.

摘要： A detecting circuit detects a moving vector for each block. Corresponding to the moving vectors, a plurality of moving portions in one field are extracted. Thus, a moving vector of each moving portion is generated. In a field memory, a motion compensating process is performed corresponding to the moving vectors. A field difference between the input signal and a signal that has been movement-compensated is supplied to an Hadamard transform circuit. The Hadamard transform circuit divides the field difference signal into a plurality of frequency components. A non-linear circuit has noise components corresponding to individual frequency bands. An output signal of the non-linear circuit is supplied to an inverse-Hadamard transform circuit. The inverse-Hadamard transform circuit performs an inverse-Hadamard transform process. The resultant signal is subtracted from the input picture signal.

摘要： Image signal recording apparatus and methods are provided for recording first and second image data on a record medium wherein the first image data are obtained through sampling of image signals at a first data rate and the second image data have a second data rate lower than the first data rate such that the second image data may be reproduced by apparatus operating at the second data rate. The second image data are formed from the first image data and recorded together with at least a portion of the first image data in predetermined areas of the recording medium. The portion of the first image data recorded on the recording medium is selected such that the first image data may be derived by reproducing apparatus operating at the first data rate from the second image data and the portion of the first image data. Area discriminating codes are recorded on the recording medium for identifying the predetermined areas in which the second image data and the portion of the first image data are recorded.
