    • A hydraulic controller for the hydraulic pressure in an automatic transmission for a vehicle, which includes at least a first transmission section capable of automatically shifting gears in association with at least vehicle speed and engine load, and a second transmission section capable of automatically shifting between the lower gear side and the higher gear side, and being arranged on a output side of the first transmission section, and the first transmission section and the second transmission section are simultaneously or alternately shifted, to thereby achieve multi-gear shifts, wherein the hydraulic pressure of a frictionally engaging device for shifting the second transmission section into the high gear side at the time of the shift is varied in accordance with output shaft torque of the first transmission section. With this arrangement, the high gear shift of the second transmission section can be carried out by optimal acting forces for the respective shifts, so that a balance between improvements in the durability of the frictionally engaging device and reduction of shift shocks can be satisfactorily maintained.

    • A vehicle has at least two wheels, a transmission mechanism, and a clutch which can be selectively engaged to at least partially rotationally couple together these two wheels. This anti torque shock control device includes a means for detecting whether or not shift range of the transmission mechanism is a vehicle non driving range or a vehicle driving range, and a means for controlling the clutch to be at least partially engaged, when shift range of the transmission mechanism alters from a vehicle non driving range to a vehicle driving range. Thus torque shock and power train noise at this time are effectively prevented. The method of operation of this device is also described. In various applications, the clutch may be a switchover clutch for controlling the vehicle between two wheel drive operation and four wheel drive operation, selectively coupling between front wheels of the vehicle and rear wheels of the vehicle; or may be a central differential control clutch for controlling a central differential device of the vehicle between modes of operation in which the central differential device does and does not provide central differential effect between the front wheels of the vehicle and the rear wheels of the vehicle; or may be an axle differential control clutch for controlling a front or a rear differential device of the vehicle between modes of operation in which it does and does not provide differential effect between a pair of left and right wheels of the vehicle on the same axle.

    • This hydraulic pressure transmission control device is for a vehicle with a transmission system which has, in series in the specified order in the rotational force transmission path, a first transmission mechanism which can be set to any one of several speed stages according to selective supply of hydraulic fluid pressures, and a second transmission mechanism which similarly can be set to any one of several speed stages according to selective supply of hydraulic fluid pressures. It includes a first hydraulic fluid pressure control device which has a first line pressure control valve for supplying it with a first line pressure for being then selectively supplied to the first transmission mechanism as its selective supply of hydraulic fluid pressures; and a second hydraulic fluid pressure control device which has a second line pressure control valve for supplying it with a second line pressure for being then selectively supplied to the second transmission mechanism as its selective supply of hydraulic fluid pressures. Thereby the first and second line pressures can be independently determined according to circumstances. Particularly, the second line pressure control valve may increase the line pressure which it supplies, the lower is the engaged speed stage of the first transmission mechanism, and/or the lower is the engaged speed stage of the second transmission mechanism, and/or the higher is the value of a parameter representing the load on the engine.
