    • An electronic control apparatus 100A is configured in such a way that a CPU 110A reads the conduction current of an opening/closing device 140n in an IPM 190A, by way of serial-parallel converters 114a and 114b and a second multi-channel A/D converter 116b; the opening/closing device 140n is opening/closing-controlled through a serial control signal SRn or a parallel control signal PWMn; and a reading timing control circuit 170n adjusts the reading timing in such a way that, regardless of the kind of the control signal, reading is performed during the period in which the opening/closing device 140n is driven to be closed. As a result, the serial-parallel converter can reduce the number of wiring leads between the IPM and the microprocessor, and the digital conversion value is accurately read, by adjusting the error between the serial-signal timing and the parallel-signal timing.

    • Provided is a drive control device capable of surely detecting, by a monitoring/controlling unit, an abnormality of a short circuit and a disconnection in a power supply circuit to an electric load, and of decreasing a load required for a quick response imposed on the monitoring/controlling unit. A switching element is controlled to open/close by a control output signal generated by a monitoring/controlling unit, and a determination storing circuit determines whether circuit opening and circuit closing have been correctly carried out and stores a result of the determination, and periodically reports to the monitoring/controlling unit. While the stored content of the determination is periodically reset, the determination operation is updated and continues. The monitoring/controlling unit does not need to immediately monitor the determination storing signal when the open/closing command is generated.

    • An analog input signal obtained from an analog sensor group 104A and first and second calibration voltages obtained by high-precision voltage-dividing resistors are successively selected by a multiplexer, digitally converted through an AD converter and then input to a microprocessor. The microprocessor calculates a collinear approximate coefficient based on the first and second calibration voltages in cooperation with a program memory, and corrects the digital conversion value to the analog input signal by using the approximate coefficient, thereby correcting a linear error of the conversion characteristic of the AD converter. In the calculation of the approximate coefficient, upper and lower limit check is executed on measurement values and calculation coefficients, and also plural calculation results are averaged to enhance the precision.

    • When burst traffic causes a packet to overflow or to be ready to overflow from a queue, a packet relay apparatus mirrors only the packets to be accumulated in that queue. An outgoing queue management unit copies a packet into a queue in an outgoing queue list and then obtains the length of the queue (step 272). If the queue length is greater than a mirroring starting threshold, the value of the mirroring on/off flag in the corresponding queue entry is changed to ON (step 275). If the queue length is smaller than a mirroring stopping threshold, the value of the flag is changed to OFF (step 274). After the queue length exceeds the mirroring starting threshold until the queue length becomes smaller than the mirroring stopping threshold, only the packets to be output to that queue are mirrored.
