    • A master cylinder includes primary and secondary pistons both slidably mounted in the cylinder bore of a cylinder. A stopper plate is disposed in the cylinder bore behind the secondary piston. A groove having a larger diameter than the piston sliding surfaces is formed in the inner wall of the cylinder bore at its axially intermediate portion. The stopper plate includes a pair of diametrically opposed flanges having an outer diameter larger than the diameter of the piston sliding surfaces and smaller than the diameter of the groove. The flanges are received in the groove and engageable with a shoulder formed at the rear end of the groove, thereby preventing excessive backward movement of the secondary piston. The stopper plate has a dimension perpendicular to the direction in which the flanges extend and smaller than the diameter of the piston sliding surfaces. Thus, the stopper plate can be inserted into the cylinder bore with one of the flanges located ahead of the other.

A contact lens for correction of irregular astigmatism is disclosed wherein a positive correction area (27) is provided on one side of a special radial line (30) and a negative correction area (28) is provided on another side while in any of the correction areas (27, 28) a lens power is configured so that an absolute value becomes progressively larger from an outer peripheral edge part towards a central portion.

    • In an earth station having a particular address and comprising a terminal and a transmitting section for transmitting a transmission data signal including an address signal representative of the particular address towards a satellite through a single communication channel, a receiving section receives a reception data signal comprising the transmission data signal which is sent from the satellite through the single communication channel. By detecting the particular address, a decision circuit decides whether or not the receiving section correctly receives the reception data signal within a predetermined time interval after the transmitting section starts transmission of the transmission data signal. When the receiving section does not correctly receive the reception data signal, the transmitting section stops the transmission of the transmission data signal and an alarm signal is supplied to the terminal. Alternatively, the transmission data signal may include another address signal representative of another address of another earth station.
