    • A wireless communication system includes an apparatus capable of detecting whether a cell coverage is downscaled. The wireless communication system receives information used for communication between an evolved NodeB (eNodeB) and a User Equipment (UE) from the eNodeB. The UE performs at least one of pilot signal power checking for checking if a pilot signal power falls within a first reference range, DownLink (DL) Signal-to-Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) checking for checking if an SINR of a DL traffic channel falls within a second reference range, and UpLink (UL) SINR checking for checking if an SINR of an UL traffic channel falls within a third reference range using the received information. The UE also detects whether a cell coverage of a cell to which the eNodeB and the UE belongs is downscaled based on a checking result.

    • A method of creating a global coordinate of a polyhedral hollow frame includes a first step of providing a plurality of transmitters on a reference surface in the hollow frame, providing a plurality of reference sensors to create the coordinate of the reference surface, and creating a local coordinate frame of the reference surface on the basis of the positional coordinates measured by the reference sensors; a second step of providing reference sensors at common points of a first vertical surface neighboring to the reference surface to measure and store the coordinates of the common points; a third step of providing a plurality of transmitters and reference sensors on the first vertical surface neighboring to the reference surface to create a local coordinate frame of the first vertical surface; a fourth step of transforming the local coordinate frames created at the first and the third steps into a global coordinate frame using the coordinates of the common points measured at the second step; a fifth step of repeatedly performing the second step to the fourth step on remaining vertical surfaces of the polyhedral hollow frame to transform the respective local coordinate frames into a unified global coordinate frame; a sixth step of providing transmitters on an upper surface neighboring to each vertical surface to obtain the relationship between the global coordinate frame and a local coordinate frame of the upper surface using the coordinates of the common point; and a seventh step of creating and applying a global coordinate frame using the relationship obtained at the sixth step.

    • An uplink packet data transmission system and method are provided which can reduce a collision probability in a contention period by assigning a priority to mobile stations when bandwidth allocation is rejected due to lack of resources of a base station from which a best effort service is provided. In a method for transmitting best effort data in a communication system, the base station allocates resources to mobile stations for which a reservation has been made in a previous time period when bandwidth for the mobile stations requesting bandwidth allocation is insufficient, reserves bandwidth for mobile stations for which the bandwidth allocation has been rejected, and transmits reservation information. The mobile stations receive the reservation information, skip a next scheduled bandwidth allocation request, and transmit data through bandwidth allocated from the base station.
