    • Disclosed herein are an electronic paper display device and a driving method thereof. The electronic paper display device includes: rotating balls each having at least two display areas colored in different colors and including a portion charged with a positive charge and a portion charged with a negative charge; a driving controller generating a driving voltage for rotating the rotating balls; and an upper electrode and a lower electrode provided above and below the rotating balls, respectively, and receiving a driving voltage from the driving controller, wherein the driving controller may apply a first driving voltage for rotating the rotating balls between the upper electrode and the lower electrode for time duration T1 and apply a second driving voltage, which has a polarity opposite to that of the first driving voltage, between the upper electrode and the lower electrode for time duration T2.

    • There is provided an electronic paper display device, and a method of manufacturing the same. The electronic paper display device includes a display side electrode formed of a transparent material, a rear electrode opposing the display side electrode, a substrate disposed between the display side electrode and the rear electrode, and including a plurality of partition walls separating a space between the display side electrode and the rear electrode and a plurality of cell spaces formed by the plurality of partition walls, and two or more types of rotary bodies disposed in the plurality of cell spaces and displaying different respective colors. The same type of rotary bodies displaying the same color among the rotary bodies includes a plurality of rotary bodies having different respective shades. The electronic paper display device has high image stability and uniformity and enables the expression of various shades.

    • There is provided an electronic paper display device and a manufacturing method thereof. The electronic paper display device includes a first electrode formed of a transparent material; at least one or more second electrodes disposed to face the first electrode with differing gaps therebetween; and at least one or more display units disposed between the first and second electrodes and having optical properties varied according to voltage applied to the first and second electrodes. The display units are disposed between the first electrode and the second electrodes disposed to face the first electrode with differing gaps, so respective rotation amounts or rotation angles of the display units become different when the same magnitude of voltage is applied. Accordingly, a wide range of contrast levels is displayed.

    • There is provided an electronic paper display device and a method of manufacturing the same. The electronic paper display device includes first and second electrodes opposing each other, a plurality of rotary bodies disposed between the first and second electrodes and having electrical and optical anisotropy, elastomer matrix blocks each surrounding at least one of the plurality of rotary bodies and spaced apart from each other, and an optical adhesive formed between the elastomer matrix blocks. The electronic paper display device achieves a high contrast ratio and a relative low driving voltage. Also, the use of the optical adhesive facilitates the adhesion of the first and second electrodes, and blocks the vaporization of dielectric liquid filing a cavity, thereby ensuring high reliability.
