A casing accommodates the transmitter and the pressure sensor. A lid closes an opening of the casing. A metal body is provided on the lid. When the opening of the casing is closed with the lid, the diaphragm is covered with the metal body.

摘要： A tire condition monitoring apparatus has a pressure sensor that measures air pressure in a tire of a vehicle. The apparatus also has a transmitter that transmits pressure data measured by the pressure sensor, and a receiver that receives and processes data transmitted by the transmitter. The pressure sensor has a diaphragm exposed to air of the tire, and metallic material covering the diaphragm. The transmitter has a power supply circuit and a connecting member. The power supply circuit supplies electricity for activating the transmitter. The connecting member connects the power supply circuit with the metallic material such that the potential of the metallic material is the same as the potential of the power supply circuit.

The wheel transmitters transmit tire inflation pressure data by radio waves, and the receiver receives the data from the transmitters. The receiver includes reception antennas for receiving radio waves from the transmitters and a receiver unit for processing the received data. The reception antennas include external reception antennas, which are separated from the receiver unit, and at least one internal reception antenna, which is located in the receiver unit. The number of the external reception antennas is less than that of the transmitters by one. As a result, the receiver is simplified without reducing its performance. Also, a loop antenna, which is used as a reception antenna to induce voltage by the magnetic field component of radio waves, improves the efficiency of the receiver.

摘要： A transmitter includes a main body and a valve stem. The main body has a resin casing, which includes a cylinder. A metal cylindrical collar is inserted in the cylinder. An inserting section of the valve stem is inserted in the collar, and a nut is fastened to a threaded portion of the inserting section. Accordingly, the cylinder and the collar are clamped between a step of the valve stem and the nut. The fastening force of the nut is applied mainly to the collar, thus barely affecting the cylinder. As a result, the valve stem is reliably attached to the main body in a stable manner.

摘要： A transmitter of a tire inflation monitor performs wireless transmission of data concerning tire inflation pressure from an antenna coil to a receiver. The transmitter includes a signal generation circuit, which is connected to the antenna coil. The signal generation circuit generates a trigger signal for activating or inactivating a controller of the transmitter based on a particular control signal received from a predetermined external controller through the antenna coil. When the controller is activated by the trigger signal, the transmitter starts wireless transmission of the data. When the controller is deactivated by the trigger signal, the transmitter is in a sleep state. In this way, data transmission from the transmitter is easily and externally started or stopped.
