摘要： A relay apparatus (relay unit) is provided between a PC, from which image data is transmitted, and an image recording apparatus (image recording unit). The relay apparatus executes a process for correcting a color on the image data transmitted from the PC to the image recording apparatus. In addition, a storage unit of the relay apparatus stores unique information of the image recording apparatus, such as a production number. The relay apparatus executes processes for correcting the image data and for adding the unique information to the image data transmitted from the PC, and then transmits the processed image data to the image recording apparatus. Thus, realized is an image recording system and the relay apparatus, in which it is not necessary to provide a circuit which executes a process for embedding unique information in the image data in the image recording apparatus, so that deterioration in quality of the image caused by the unique information can be prevented as much as possible.

摘要： In an image forming apparatus of the present invention, in the case where an image information reading mode is set by an operation panel, image information recorded on a rear surface of a document is read as a master CPU, via slave CPUs, instructs a double-sided automatic document transporting device to transport the document in such a manner that the rear surface of the document faces a document plate. The master CPU also instructs the slave CPU to check whether it is possible to recognize the image information thus read. In the case where the image information thus read can be recognized, the master CPU, via the slave CPU, sets the contents of the image information thus read from the rear surface of the document as image forming conditions to be used by an image reading section and an image forming section, thereby permitting to simplify the operation of setting the image forming conditions without causing the deterioration of the quality of a copy image.

An image processing apparatus 100 includes a position detection portion 41 for detecting a location of a jam which occurs during feeding of recording paper, a determination portion 42 for determining a jam state based on a detection result of the position detection sensor 69, an examination portion 43 for examining whether the jam has been resolved and a resuming portion 44 for resuming the processing when an examination of the jam location by the examination portion 43 is finished. If the position detection sensor 69 detects the occurrence of the jam (S2), the determination portion determines the jam state and simultaneously provides notification of the occurrence of the jam (S4). If clearing work is finished (S5), the examination portion 43 feeds a test sheet (S6). It is detected whether or not the test sheet passes through the jam location (S8), and the processing is resumed if it is detected within predetermined time (S10).
