    • The invention provides a golf ball material composed of an ionomeric resin composition obtained by melt-blending under applied heat one or more compounds selected from among UV/EB-curable materials with, in the presence of a peroxide, a non-ionomeric thermoplastic resin and an ionomeric resin; or of an ionomeric resin composition obtained by using, instead of the ionomeric resin, an acid-containing polymer base of the ionomeric resin and subjecting the acid-containing polymer composition similarly prepared by melt-blending under applied heat to an acid-neutralizing reaction with a metal ionic species. Methods for preparing such a material, and golf balls which include as a component therein a molding made of the golf ball material are also provided. The golf ball material has a good thermal stability, flow and processability, and can thus be used to obtain high-performance golf balls endowed with an excellent abrasion resistance, scuff resistance, durability and flexibility without a loss of rebound.

    • A connector according to the present invention comprises a housing and a plurality of contacts. The housing includes a mating portion having a plate shape. The mating portion projects forward and has an upper surface and a bottom surface. The plurality of contacts is held by the housing. Each of the contacts comprises a contact portion, an end portion and a flat portion. The contact portion extends in a connection direction and is exposed at the upper surface of the mating portion. The end portion is embedded in the mating portion. The flat portion forms a boundary between the contact portion and the end portion and does not projects from the upper surface.     • The invention provides a molded polymer material which is obtained by subjecting a polymer composition that includes (A) at least one polymer containing α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, (B) at least one diene polymer, (C) at least one metal cation source, and (D) at least one organic peroxide, and has a chemical structure arrived at by neutralizing some or all of the carboxyl groups in component A with component C in the presence of component B, to molding and crosslinking under the influence of radicals generated by decomposing component D. The molded polymer material has a high resilience, a high hardness and a good durability, making it well-suited for use in golf balls.

    • The present invention provides a golf ball which includes (I) a first member composed of a material molded under heat from a rubber composition of (a) a base rubber composed primarily of a mixture of at least 60 wt % of a polybutadiene having a stress relaxation time (T80), as defined below, of less than 4 seconds and up to 40 wt % of a polybutadiene having a stress relaxation time (T80) of at least 4 seconds, (b) an unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or a metal salt thereof, and (c) an organic peroxide; and (II) a second member composed of a specific, highly-neutralized, resin composition. The golf ball of the invention, by being thus constituted, has an excellent resilience for the ball as a whole, a good, soft, feel on impact, and imparts an excellent spin performance, thereby enabling an increased distance to be achieved. In addition, it has a high manufacturability.
