摘要： Absorbents comprising an water-absorbable resin and water-insoluble nonporous spherical monoparticles having an average diameter of 1 to 50 nm; a process for producing these absorbent by mixing the spherical monoparticles, which have been solubilized in water, with dry powdery particles of the water-absorbable resin; absorbable constructs composed of the above absorbent with a matrix wherein the amount of the absorbent ranges from 30 to 95% by weight based on the absorbable construct; and absorbable articles provided with the absorbable construct, a liquid-permeable sheet and an air-permeable back sheet. These absorbents, absorbable constructs and absorbable articles are excellent in the diffusion/absorption speed and absorption amount of a liquid within the resin even in case of absorbing a liquid containing water-insoluble or hardly water-soluble matters such as menstrual blood or feces.

摘要： A crosslinked polymer (A) which comprises, as essential structural units, units derived from (a) one or more vinyl monomers selected from the group consisting of water-soluble vinyl monomers and/or vinyl monomers which become water-soluble upon hydrolysis and units derived from (b) a crosslinking agent and which satisfies the following requirements: (1): (X)≧25 g/g, (2): (Y)≧15 g/g, and (3): (Y)≧−0.54 (X)+41. It has exceedingly high water retentivity and exceedingly high absorbing power under load. When applied to an absorbent structure and an absorbent article, the polymer has excellent absorbing performance. In the relationships, (X) is the amount of physiological saline retained through 1-hour absorption and (Y) is the amount of physiological saline absorbed through 1-hour standing under a load of 60 g/cm2.

摘要： Viscosity index improvers, are disclosed, comprising the following polymer (A1) or (A0). Polymer (A1) has a solubility parameter of 8.6-9.4, a crystallizing initiation temperature of −15° C. or less and a steric hindrance factor (F) of 0-13, and comprises units of at least one of (a) C1-40alkyl group-containing (meth)acrylates, (b) alkyl alkenyl ethers, (c) alkenyl carboxylates and (d) nitrogen-containing unsaturated monomers. Polymer (A0) comprises units of a branched C20-40alkyl group-containing (meth)acrylate (a0) capable of providing a homopolymer having a Tc of 5° C. or less and units of another alkyl (meth)acrylate. Monomers, 2-decyl-tetradecyl methacrylate and 2-decyl-tetradecyl acrylate, are also described, suitable for producing polymers for viscosity index improvers.

摘要： Disclosed are a skin cell activator extracted from a pufferfish liver, and a hair growth agent comprising 10 volume % or more of the skin cell activator. The skin cell activator comprises an organic substance which contains an alcohol- and other organic solvent-soluble fat/oil component extracted from a pufferfish liver, or a high-polar organic substance which has the fat/oil component and a hydrophilic reactive group selected from a group including a carboxyl group and a hydroxyl group and bound to the fat/oil component. The present invention makes it possible to effectively utilize an internal organ of a fish or shellfish which has conventionally been precluded from utilization. In particular, based on clarification of the hair growth-promoting function of the pufferfish's internal organ, the present invention can provide a novel hair growth agent having a direct hair-growing effect by utilizing the function.
