    • A friction clutch wherein the distance between a clutch center member on a driven shaft side and a pressure plate, between which an alternate arrangement of clutch friction plates on a driving shaft side and clutch plates on the driven shaft side is disposed, is increased or decreased to disconnect or connect transmission of power between the driving shaft side and the driven shaft side. The driven shaft is constructed so that the clutch center member and the pressure plate are disposed for relative displacement in a direction of rotation. The friction clutch includes a conversion mechanism for converting a relative displacement in the direction of rotation caused by a countertorque inputted to the friction clutch into a relative displacement in a direction of an axis of rotation to increase the distance between the clutch center member and the pressure plate.

    • It is intended to provide a swash plate type continuously variable transmission capable of automatically affording a lock-up state in which second distributing valves are stopped at their stroke mid-point to cut off motor ports when a motor swash plate stands upright, even without using any special interlocking mechanism. Second distributing valves for bringing motor ports of motor cylinder bores into communication with a high-pressure oil path and a low-pressure oil path selectively in an alternate manner are arranged in parallel with the axis X of a cylinder block; a valve swash plate for reciprocating the second distributing valves is integrally combined with a motor swash plate on the same slant plane; and the motor ports are formed so as to be controlled selectively by the second distributing valves at respective positions 90.degree. out of phase in the circumferential direction of the cylinder block 4 with respect to the corresponding motor cylinder bores, the second distributing valves being stopped at their stroke mid-points when the motor swash plate stands upright. In a swash plate type hydraulic unit for use as a swash plate type oil-hydraulic pump or motor, it is intended to attain the reduction in radial size of the hydraulic unit while ensuring a sufficient plunger stroke.

    • An operating wire control device for a brake system having an adjust lever rotatable in accordance with the stroke of an inner wire. An adjuster is rotatable by the rotation of the adjust lever and an adjust bolt is movable upon rotation of the adjuster to alter the relative length of the inner wire and an outer wire. The adjust lever comprises a first lever having an abutment member for detecting the stroke of the inner wire and a second lever having a ratchet pawl engaged with a ratchet tooth on a ratchet wheel formed integrally on the adjuster. The second lever is longer than the first lever. An adjust lever spring is provided between the first and second levers, while a return spring extends between the second lever and a housing. The adjust lever spring has a spring force which becomes smaller than that of the return spring when the inner wire has been pulled beyond a prescribed stroke.
