    • A flat fluorescent lamp includes a first substrate, a second substrate, an external electrode, and a radiating member. The second substrate is combined with the first substrate to form a plurality of discharge spaces. The external electrode is formed on at least one surface of the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the external electrode extends perpendicularly to the discharge spaces. The radiating member is formed on the external electrode and radiates heat generated from the external electrode. Therefore, the heat generated from the flat fluorescent lamp is radiated to outside the flat fluorescent lamp through the radiating member, reducing pinhole formation and generally improving luminance characteristics of the flat fluorescent lamp.

    • A flat fluorescent lamp includes a first substrate, a second substrate, an external electrode, and a radiating member.     • A lamp assembly, light supplying module and LCD device using the same are provided. The LCD device includes the light-supplying module for generating a first light, a light distribution-changing module for receiving the first light and changing the optical characteristics of the first light to output a second light, and a display module for receiving the second light having improved optical characteristics, the light distribution-changing module being coupled to the light-supplying module by means of a first engaging member, the display module being coupled in the light distribution-changing module by means of a second engaging member, and the display module, light distribution-changing module and light-supplying module being coupled to each other by means of a third engaging member. Therefore, each component of the LCD device having above structure is easily separated, replaced and easily repaired.

    • Disclosed are a light guiding plate having a slimmed thickness and small volume, a manufacturing method of the light guiding plate and a liquid crystal display (LCD) having the light guiding plate. The light guiding plate has a light reflection face with at least one brightness enhancement recess, which allows a light having an optical distribution of a planar light source to be supplied toward the LCD panel. A brightness concentration recess is formed in the light output face to concentrate the brightness. The brightness enhancement recess and the brightness concentration recess allow an enhancement in the brightness and an increase in the uniformity in the brightness. The light guiding plate excludes use of the diffusion sheet, the prism sheet and the reflection plate from a backlight assembly, thereby significantly decreasing the total weight and volume of the LCD.
