    • An optical scanner having a variable resolution wherein an optical detecting unit controlled by a pixel clock signal generates a discrete signal representing pixels scanned in a region. An analog-to-digital converter converts the signal to a digital signal with a preselected resolution controlled by a sample clock generator. The sample clock generator receives the pixel clock signal, and through a counter and a store, operates an addressed, binary data word which is sent to a register. The register is coupled to a further periodic clock generator that controls reading from the register and provides a clock signal with pulses when the bits of the data word assume a first binary state, and no pulses when the bits assume a second binary state. The clock signal is passed to the analog-to-digital converter as a sample clock signal.

    • Disclosed is a digital X-ray image capturing device for easy mobility, including: a cassette having a built-in image plate; an image plate transfer device for taking the image plate out of the cassette and transferring the same to a scanning point; an image scanning device for scanning an X-ray latent image of the image plate by irradiating laser beams to the scanning point; an internal body including the image plate transfer device and the image scanning device; and an external housing surrounding the internal body. The image plate transfer device includes: a scan drum having a fastening means on a surface thereof, the fastening means being combined with an end of the image plate; at least one roller installed near the scan drum to closely wind the image plate on the surface of the scan drum; and an electric power means for applying torque to the scan drum. The slide mounting type or up-mounting type of cassette can be attached to the image plate transfer device.

    • A method of supervising a plurality of data processing units in a redundant data processing system for controlling a telephone exchange having redundant digital switching networks, preferably of the TST type (Time-Space-Time), said processing units serving i.a. to set up and delete redundant communication channels through the switching networks. The process is original in that error detecting is provided for by comparing associated telecommunication output data from each switching network, a discrepancy in anyone of said comparisons indicating an error in the set up by the controlling units of the respective communication channel through the switching networks. This obviates microsynchronization of the units which may consequently comprise more than two units. Thus the invention provides for n+1 redundancies and allows a more efficient error finding since a larger number of units can execute a program in a plurality of separate program phases and the said error indicating signal of the invention is used for initiating exchange of the program phases between the units. In a preferred embodiment the exchange is of the TST type (Time-Space-Time switch) and there is provided a plurality of comparator circuits corresponding to the number of output time switches in each switching network, said comparator circuits being directly connected to the respective output time switches for comparing the time division multiplexed output data from the time switches.
