    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for evaluating flex durability of a flange of a steeply inclined conveyor belt, which is capable of performing accurate evaluation by setting a test sample of the flange to a condition approximating an actual use state.SOLUTION: One end of a test sample T of a flange is installed fixedly to a base plate 2a, and the other end of the test sample T is held by an end holding tool 9, and a swing rod 6 is rotatably and pivotally supported by a swing support shaft 7 fixed to the base plate 2a, and a long hole 6a is used to attach the end holding tool 9 to a front end of the swing rod 6 so as to allow the end holding tool 9 to rotate and move in a lengthwise direction of the swing rod 6, whereby the test sample T is set. By swinging the swing rod 6 with the swing support shaft 7 as the center via a rotating rod 4 and a connection rod 5 by rotating of a motor 3, a flange base 20 of the set test sample T is pressed to an arcuate surface of a winding member 12 installed on the base plate 2a to bend the test sample T.
