    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving its running performance in straight-ahead driving and cornering on a wet road surface. SOLUTION: A plurality of drainage grooves 2 are provided on both the sides of the tire equatorial line E of a tread part 1. In this case, the drainage grooves 2 extend at an angle in an opposite direction to the rotational direction R while curving towards the outside in the tire width direction. The end part on the treading side of the drainage grooves 2 is closed, while the end part on the trailing side thereof is opened to the tire side. The inclination angle relative to the tire circumferential direction at the terminal end on the treading side of the drainage groove 2 is 0-45°, while the inclination angle relative to the tire circumferential direction at the terminal end on the trailing side thereof is 65-90°. On the tread portion 1, a land portion 3 is formed which continuously extends along the tire equatorial line E. A plurality of sub grooves 4 are provided which extend from the drainage grooves 2 toward the rotational direction R. The inclination angle of the sub groove 4 relative to the tire circumferential direction is larger than the inclination angle relative to the tire circumferential direction at the terminal end on the treading side of the drainage groove 2.
