    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an access controller and an access control method, which operate a computer without interposition of a user by automatically executing setting of an access control rule.
      SOLUTION: In this access controller, a port extraction means 101 extracts a port number of a port used by software on the basis of a software configuration of the software used in the computer. A decision means 102 decides possibility/impossibility of access to each the port on the basis of the extracted port number. A setting means 103 sets the access control rule according to the decision. An access control means 104 controls the access to each the port according to the set access control rule in time of execution of the software. Because the access controller extracts the port number of the port used by the software and sets the access control rule on the basis of the extracted port number, the access controller executes the proper access control without requiring the interposition of the user.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the overall performance of a system by using a data buffer consisting of a dual port RAM as a buffer contained in a host adaptor. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 10 transmits the status to a host computer and at the same time checks the presence or absence of reconnection given from another I/O device. If the reconnection is confirmed, the CPU 10 performs immediately the reconnection process and transfers the data to the relevant I/O device. If a write access is confirmed under such conditions, the data stored in a data buffer 11 consisting of a dual RAM are trnasferred to the I/O device. Meanwhile the data received from the I/O device are temporarily stored in the buffer 11 in a read access state. In such a constitution, the DMA can be instantaneously carried out to the I/O device when the reconnection of another I/O device is secured during execution of the DMA between the host computer and the buffer 11. Thus he waiting time can be omitted. As a result, the overall performance of a system is improved.
