摘要： To prevent an electric wire cover from being attached upside down, ribs 16 and 24 are formed respectively on the outer peripheral upper face of a housing 10 and the inner peripheral lower face of an electric wire cover 20. Two wire distribution spaces 36U and 36L are provided between the housing 10 and the electric wire cover 20, extending along the upper and lower faces of the housing 10. When the electric wire cover 20 is correctly attached, the ribs 16 and 24 of the housing 10 and the electric wire cover 20 do not interfere with one another. However, when the electric wire cover 20 is upside down, the ribs 16 and 24 interfere with one another, thereby preventing the attachment of the electric wire cover 20.

摘要： A construction is provided for preventing an erroneous assembly of a connector housing and a cover. The construction includes a pair of locking portions (8) that project at the top and bottom of each of left and right side portions of a two-contact connector (1). On the other hand, cover-side projections (35, 36) project from upper and lower walls of a five-contact cover (32). If the connector housing (1) is inserted into a mount opening (34) of the cover (32), the locking portions (8) shown at the shown right side come into contact with the cover-side projections (35, 36) of the cover (32). Thus, even if an attempt is made to forcibly insert the connector housing (1) into the cover (32), this cannot be done by the mutual interference of the locking portions (8) and the projections (35, 36). In this way, an error assembling of the connector housing (1) and the cover (32) can be prevented.

This short circuit preventing member 50 can be moved between a short circuit preventing position, between resilient contacts 42 of terminal fittings 40 provided at mutually opposing upper and lower locations, and a retreated position, which is to the posterior of the short circuit preventing position. Since the upper and lower terminal fittings 40 are prevented from short circuiting when the short circuit preventing member 50 is in the short circuit preventing position, the resilient contacts 42 are bendable to a greater degree, thus increasing their contacting force with contacts of a card edge connector.
