    • An optical head for recording, reproducing, or erasing information by projecting a light beam onto a disk-like recording medium. The optical head includes a fixed head unit having a light source for generating the light beam and a sensor for receiving light reflected from the disk-like recording medium which was generated by the light source and projected onto the disk-like recording medium. The head also includes a movable head unit movable in the radial direction of the disk-like recording medium toward the fixed head unit. The movable head unit has an objective lens for condensing the light beam generated by the light source and projecting the light beam generated by the light source and projecting the light beam onto the disk-like recording medium. The fixed head unit and movable head unit each include a wall having an optical path window therein positioned in the optical path between the first head unit and the movable head unit. Each wall also includes a portion surrounding the optical path window and projecting in the direction of the optical path between the fixed head unit and the movable head unit.

    • A shutter device for a still video camera comprises first and second shutter blades, a latch member and an unlatch member. The latch member latches the first blade at its moved position where an image pickup element is exposed to an image light. The first blade is kept latched for a preparatory exposure to correct a set exposure value on the basis of the output of the pickup element or for picking up a motion picture. The unlatch member releases the latching of the first blade. In one embodiment, the unlatch member is provided on the second blade to unlatch the first blade when the second blade is moved to terminate the exposure. In other embodiments, the unlatch member includes an electromagnet to unlatch the first blade.A still video camera comprises a view finder mirror and a mirror operating mechanism. The mechanism includes a motor and is arranged to retract and return the mirror relative to an optical path by utilizing a normal and a reverse rotation of the motor, respectively.In the disclosed embodiments, the camera further comprises a mechanism to maintain the mirror in the retracted condition and a shutter in the opened condition to operate in a motion video mode where an image pickup element is continuously exposed to an image light. The mechanism for setting in the motion video mode may be operable manually from the exterior of the camera or by connecting an external device to the camera.

    • An image sensing apparatus having a diaphragm of a normally closed type for controlling the entrance of light into an image sensor. The diaphragm is opened from a fully closed state to a predetermined aperture value based on the output of a light measuring element other than the image sensor and is closed again when a first exposure operation is carried out, and then it is opened from the fully closed state to another predetermined aperture value which is based on the signal formed by the image sensor during the first exposure operation and is closed again when a second exposure operation is carried out. An electrical signal formed by the image sensor during the second exposure operation is recorded as a still picture signal, thus giving an advantage that the aging change of the diaphragm and the tolerance of the exposure can be canceled.

    • A digital camera with five automatic exposure modes is provided with corresponding individual cards upon selective insertion into the camera to effect the operation of either or both of the shutter and diaphragm in accordance with the digital output of a computer through logic selection circuits as the mode information on the inserted card is read into a binary coded decimal counter controlling operation of the logic circuits. When the card is absent from the camera, a first controlling push button for sequential display of the modes is rendered effective to pass a pulse train to the counter so that upon release of the button, the current mode displayed can be set. The card further includes information relating to the determination of whether or not to give a sound warning signal which occurs, in one embodiment, when the film nears the terminal end of footage. In another embodiment, the buzzer is utilized to assist in releasing not only a first but also an additional three buttons for setting exposure factors and a number of film frames available just after a desired symbol or digital value appears in the display as they are sequentially presented.

    • A camera performing a film winding action with an electric wind-up mechanism and producing a winding completion signal upon completion of each film winding action. A counter and a discriminating circuit are reset by a back cover closing signal produced when a back cover of the camera is closed to have the counter count the winding completion signals. When both the winding completion signal and an output signal of the discriminating circuit representative of the initial state thereof are obtained, an electromagnetic release mechanism is automatically actuated to carry out an exposure action. Upon completion of the exposure action, the film winding action of the electric wind-up mechanism is performed. When the counter has counted a predetermined count value, the discriminating circuit is inverted by a count output of the counter to automatically render the electromagnetic release mechanism inoperative.
